The Authority

Three museums – one museum authority

Skokloster Castle is a state museum. Together with the Royal Armoury and the Hallwyl Museum it constitutes a National Authority in its own right, namely the Royal Armoury and Skokloster Castle with the Hallwyl Museum Foundation.

The Authority is accountable to the Ministry of Culture and is headed by a Director General who is also Director of the Royal Armoury. The museums base their work on a national cultural policy resolution enacted by the Riksdag (Swedish Parliament).
