Care and conservation
Skokloster Castle is a time capsule whose collections includes objects of different kinds crafted from many different materials. The Castle has a climate all its own in that it is not heated; he indoor climate is wholly governed by conditions outdoors. Continuous supervision and care are an important part of the task of preserving the Castle and its collections for the future.
Some exhibits require and depend on more extensive care and conservation for their future survival. Conservators, mainly in the fields of textile, metal and paper conservation, work with the Castle collections. They also accept assignments from other institutions and private persons.
