Imagine following the magical journey from seed to harvest. In Skokloster Castle’s Paradiset, children can learn about raising plants as they play. We start by looking at Vertumnus, one of the world’s best-known paintings. It has roses, chillies, courgettes and much more! The plant raising school is presented together with Florea, who will be here on the day. The activities will be indoors if it rains.

You do not need to pre-book the event. Free of charge to participate.

Guided tourMay 14, 13-14

Special guided tour of the park (in Swedish)

You are welcome to join a special guided tour of the castle park. There are avenues of linden trees, some of which are as old as the castle. There is also a historic orchard, with some rare apple varieties. In spring, the lilies of the valley, Turk’s cap lilies and other plants are in flower; they may have been introduced by nuns from the convent that was once here. Anders Glassel, a specialist in the cultural heritage of landscapes and parks from the National Property Board of Sweden, will lead the tour through the castle park.

Riding Sisters by Choice in the castle park

The group Riding Sisters by Choice will be on site in the castle park dressed in period court lady's costumes and jumping obstacles with their horses. The chatelaines of King Louis XIV of France, whose equestrian portraits may be found in the Skokloster Castle collections, have provided the inspiration, and here they come to life for a while in the castle park.
