Family activities

Family Tour and Meet the Animals at the Parkvilla

Did you know that there used to be plenty of poultry at Skokloster in the past? The Wrangel and Brahe families raised chickens and turkeys, which they sent to the market in Stockholm for sale. Today, the chickens and other animals at Skokloster live peacefully at the Parkvilla, near the castle and the Paradise Playground.

During the family tour, we will visit Julia Persson at the Parkvilla, where she will introduce her animals and tell us more about them. How long does it take for an egg to hatch into a chick? Why do rabbits have such big ears? How do homing pigeons always find their way home? Why do quails never sit in trees? You'll get answers to all your questions and have the chance to pet and feed the animals!

Price and booking

  • Free for children up to 19 years of age. At least one adult must join per booking.
  • Price for adults: SEK 190 (includes museum admission).

The Plume Maker's Spring Parade

This spring, Skokloster Castle will be visited by the Nordic region's only plume maker, Tim Mårtenson. The Plume Maker's Spring Parade is an imaginative installation created for the castle's magnificent halls. It will be on display in the Brahe Apartment and in the rotation on the first floor of the castle both during Easter weekend and the weekends in May.
