About Skokloster Castle
Skokloster Castle is one of the world's foremost Baroque castles and Sweden's largest private palace. Commissioned by Carl Gustav Wrangel, the construction of the castle took place during the Swedish Great Power era, spanning over 30 years.
Nevertheless, the castle was not completed as craftsmen abandoned their work upon Wrangel's death in 1676. Despite this, much of it has been preserved, and stepping into the castle is like traveling back to a bygone era – to the luxury and everyday life of the nobility as it existed for 350 years. The castle is located by Lake Mälaren and Upplandsleden.
